5.8 Fastcat #2 Winter Work Reply #60 – November 29, 2006, 11:42:17 PM I'm putting in a 6 point. It is going to set on the raise in the floor were the lower part of the back seat sets. It will be beside the seat and go up to the seatbelt attachement on the C pillar. There will be a sleeve in rollbar that goes thur the bar and attaches were the seatbelt do. The kickers will go back to the package shelf and go thur on the outside of the speakers. It will then attatch to the rear shock mounts. The frt bars will be swing outs, there will be a stub sticking up for the swing outs to slide over. The rear cross bar from left-right will be bolt in also. I have to have a rollbar for the ET's the car will be running, but I want the car to remain a streetcar. Jim, I hope that is enough info on the rollbar. The guy wants the car the 2nd week on DEc, that is coming very quickly. Later Greg Quote Selected

5.8 Fastcat #2 Winter Work Reply #62 – November 30, 2006, 03:57:18 PM Greg, 1WLDBIRD is right. A removable crossbar will not pass a tech inspection. It might at a test-n-tune, but not at an event. Be sure to post up some pictures when it's done, so I can compare it to mine.Jim Quote Selected

If you do this kind of work for others I think I would make the drive! If I can ask, what are you using for fuel lines, it looks like they are solid tube, and if so, how do they connect to the fuel pump? So I felt the removable bar ( bolts in) not pin in? I'll take some pic's of it. Thanks for the input. I would like to know forsure before I get the bar put in.Bondocougar: THe fuel line is soft aluim line. You can buy the line from Summit. THey make fitting to go from the aluim line to A/N. 5.8 Fastcat #2 Winter Work Reply #68 – November 30, 2006, 10:34:08 PM They also make fittings to go from AN to ford quick disconects...Now Greg, are the fittings to go from the aluminum to AN compression fittings or are they a flare jobby? All I seem to find for a transition from AN to hard line is a Compressin fitting. Quote Selected
5.8 Fastcat #2 Winter Work Reply #69 – November 30, 2006, 10:56:05 PM Here is a pic of an AN B nut. You can knock the plug out of the end. Then you single flair the tubing. When you tighten the B nut against the fitting and it seals up. I like the compression type better. You use less fittings with the compression setup. Just my 2 cents Quote Selected
5.8 Fastcat #2 Winter Work Reply #70 – December 01, 2006, 10:43:50 AM the enitre rollbar/roll cage itself, can be bolted in and be legal, as long as the footing plates are made of 6"X6" plate steel, but the cross bar itself, MUST be welded to the main hoop to be legal. If you were to roll that thing at the end of the track, the twisting forces put upon it, would very easily shear those bolts off that bar and make it into a weapon. Plus it would allow the roof to colapse easier. Quote Selected
