dunno if you know this place, but http://www.ford-trucks.com
has lots of kick-ass info on just about everything truck/suv/4x4 that was born with a Blue Oval...
 nice lookin bronc...any particular reason you chose a 351c over a  460?
figured a Cleveland would be harder to find parts for, and whatnot...

You're talking to someone who knows all about clevelands (or at least is learning about 'em lol). I have all the parts I need to get this Bronco running. Plus I have a cousin who uses nothing but clevelands in everything thing he has! That's where I got most of my parts! Ebay has come in handy too! lol

I got rid of the E4od tranny on my 90 bronco and put in a 5 speed.  The 351w sucks the go juice thats for sure.  I think it takes about 75bux to fill.  My bronco is pretty much virgin except for the tranny so there are a lot of things i can do when the time comes to improve.
351c's dont seem that hard to find around here,, i sometimes wonder what he big deal is.
btw,, im from boyd co Ky.

Hello fellow Kentuckian!

That's what my '90 has in it, the 351w! I know exactly what you mean by the gas mileage; this thing drinks it like it's free! lol

I think the so-called "big deal" is that the 351c is a small block that acts like a big block. My cousin puts it best... "More bang for your buck!"

i thought the 4speed was common,, borg warner 4speed?

what is rare happens to be in my bronco,,, there were no bronco's produced with a 351w and a 5 speed.  I found the mazda TK on a 91 f150 and used varous and assorted ranger parts to make up the pedals and such. Its considered to be the med to light duty tranny.  The borg warner is far superior with respect to the cluster gear sets but the wife does not off road so its good for us.

The flex plate is the trick for anyone converting this monster to standard drive,, trust me there is a difference once you install a standard drive starter in the hole only to find out it does not fit. (thats only if you assumed there was no difference in the aod flex plate vs the standard flex plate.  Lets just say i know how much ring gears cost for the flywheel at napa,, bout 19bux.

if anyone considers getting rid of the e4od to swap to standard,, ill give you a couple thoughts and things to look out for if your interested.

it was a few years ago that I test-drove that Bronco, never did find out which tranny it had....if I had the money, I'd buy a clean, rust-free
94 to 96 bronco, paint it all mono- black, and put some Nite badges and decals on it, along with the clear corner and marker lenses.
I have the clear lenses on my 92 F150, and they look awesome, all  need is the headlights lenses, and a billet grille for it...I've got a lot of money in this thing.... :dunno:  :screwy:
