any one know of a 2.3 ford dirt track forum Reply #1 – October 23, 2006, 01:57:01 PM I heard of a class I think it was called formula ford they run ¾ size formula cars w/ ford 2.3 motors. I’m not 100% on this, I heard this a couple of times by different people but never saw it not even on speed/TV. Last time I heard was a few years ago before my computer and all this good info and just chatting with someone about my turbo coupe at the time looking for aftermarket parts and they gave me a number to a company in California that’s built these motors. Needless to say don’t remember the company name and no clue what I did with the phone number to the company.I know this isn’t much help but maybe it will. Quote Selected
any one know of a 2.3 ford dirt track forum Reply #2 – October 23, 2006, 05:51:18 PM Formula Ford uses 1.6L Fiesta engines now. I don't know for sure about the past engines.Esslinger is big on the mini stock engines. That is probably the company in CA that Innes is refering to. They have everything there for a ministock car engine, such as heads, cams, valvetrain parts, ignition, carbs, intakes, exhaust headers, cranks, some drivetrain parts, everything...even tech help. If you call them up and explain what you are looking for, they claim to walk you through the process of building the engine for your demands. I can't speak for them on this, I haven't yet been able to purchase anything from them nor piece together a nice engine setup for my Cougar.http://www.esslingeracing.com/As for finding help building one or setting one up....because ministock is such a tight class, I wouldn't expect much help. I don't think many ministock racers are willing to share any information, especially publically. Maybe there is such a place though. Quote Selected
