Beware of the CLAW!

*taps playing softly*

The sad thing is, that car looked better and looked like it was less rotted than both of my Cats. Didn't I read somewhere that the frame was rotted bad at the k-members?
I fear I might be doing the same to my '86 :(

That is a very sharp '86!  I love it.  Plus I see a Huskers logo in the very first pic, so that gives you extra points :)

Your car looks good.:birdsmily:  I hope that TC had some bad structural rust cause it looked good to me.

It did have some bad structural rust damage around the strut towers especially, bottoms of the quarters, doors, fenders, and so on.  I wish I could have held on to it longer, I just didn't have the time or the space.

Dayum, those four eyes are really growing on me...

You know you want one :D

The guy saved what he could. If it was a rough as he said underneath, then what's the deal?

This is nothing compared to the assclown on TF that posted a complete running 86 XR-7 up for sale...then had it hauled off to the sper the very next day....complete.....

Birdman, how can you say that there was nothing wrong with that car? Did you look at it before I bought it? Did you see it after the drivetrain was pulled? Calm down buddy, let it go.

Cool, I ran that exact same grapple crane at the yard I worked at last summer.

You guys can bust his balls all you want about his not saving this and that, but the facts are these:
  • He has an '86, so none of the glass, or the doors, or the fenders, or the trim, would fit his car
  • He could have offered up most of those parts here in the For Sale section absolutely free and even then it's likely nobody would have taken them. Shipping glass is risky, and shipping doors is extremely expensive.
  • He very likely has something better to do with his time than to strip off parts he can't use, only to be nickel-and-dimed to death when he tried to sell 'em
  • He likely has better things to do with the space those parts would have taken up in his garage or basp00get
It's simple. He bought a parts car, took what he needed/wanted, then got rid of the rest. Nothin' wrong with that...

The pictures I saw of the car whole looked a LOT nicer and rust-free then what you say. Actually, the pics you posted of it getting clawed it still looks nicer. How bad was the strut tower rust, because the dime-sized  in the 1/4's was pretty much surface only. They look nicer then the 1/4's on 75% of the cars on this site, including mine.
