Plug it or ?

My 87 T-Bird has a V6 and I have taken aloose the thermactom system. On the intake their is and outlet thats now open. Can I leave the rubber hose on it and plug it with a large bolt?
And On the air cleaner their are two vacuum lines, one comes in another goes out.Where does the one that comes out goes?Did it go to the thermactor system and if so should I plug it up at the air cleaner?

The output of the thermactor goes to the exhaust manifold and the catalytic converter.
I don't know what rubber hose to the intake you are talking about.

The hose on the air cleaner that you have to remove to take the air cleaner off, goes to the EGR vent solinoid. It supplies clean filtered air to the vent valve.

Bad info!!

The hoses on the air cleaner control the Air Cleaner Vacuum Motor. This operates a door in the inlet to the air cleaner. It allows either warm air from around the exhaust manifold or cool air to enter the air cleaner, depending on the temperature within the air cleaner.

Sorry for the bad info.

I just removed the air pump on my 85 v6 stang, plug the hole on the back of the manifold (I just cut off the top and welded it solid) and the hose going to the cat (large allen head bolt and hose clamp) and two vacspoogee lines went around the engine bay behind the overflow, plugged those too and car still runs the same as before I emoved it.

Now maybe someone will clarify if both systems are the same...
