No Brakes???? Reply #1 – September 22, 2006, 03:12:17 PM Hey guess what?! You have no power brakes!! Anyway, enough of my smartass response. Check the vaccuum line going into the booster, if it tries to suck your finger away from you with the engine running, start looking for a new brake booster. You can prob get a new one for $150 or less, depending on what kind of car you have. Your question doest specify. Quote Selected
No Brakes???? Reply #3 – September 22, 2006, 04:54:25 PM It is a 88 Turbo Coupe, someone mentioned some sort of porportioning valve? dunno i will check the booster, line that was my suspicion when it started Quote Selected
No Brakes???? Reply #4 – September 22, 2006, 05:25:51 PM Rest your foot on the brake when you start up. You should feel the booster pull the pedal down. Quote Selected
No Brakes???? Reply #5 – September 22, 2006, 05:44:04 PM Yeah, check your vacuum lines. Mine got gummed up (I won't say how) but anyway, when I applied the brake it traveled about 1 inch then was as hard as a rock. If I let the car sit, they cleared out and I had brakes again for a little while until the gunk clogged the line again. Quote Selected
No Brakes???? Reply #6 – September 22, 2006, 07:36:41 PM Since its an 88TC his booster is electric. I bet money its the relay. Its located under the vacuum tree. go to autozone and ask for a Sorensen MR14 relay (F8PZ-14N1E5-CA). Stock replacements aren't readily available but that one will work. There is also a testing procedure for abs brakes on NATO should you need it. Quote Selected

No Brakes???? Reply #8 – September 23, 2006, 10:57:50 AM Ahh, there is the missing part. Its a TC. No vaccuum to check. I will be honest here and say that I have no experience with those systems, so, good luck to you. Quote Selected
