SN65 on eBay Reply #11 – September 22, 2006, 12:03:16 AM While I can appreciate the amount of effort that went into it, and wish I were physically and mentally and monetarily able to do something of that magnitude someday, (even though I probably wouldn't, see below for why) it's still a Mustang and my Mustang dislike grows with every new day.. :p so I'd have to say I wouldn't pay any more for it than I would for the other big Ebay Ford auction I see people talking about lately, which is Warren Buffett's Town Car. Nothing against the cars or the people who would go ga-ga over 'em.. but neither is my cup of tea.Besides.. if you shell out that kind of money for a project of that depth, would you really let yourself drive it much? Seriously.. if you dropped $100k-200k on that car, and some idiot soccer mom plows into it with her brand new H2 while she's yakking on her cell phone on one side and stuffing her face or doing her makeup with the other, you'd probably go postal and end up in jail for what you did to her for it. What else could you do with it? Race it? Would you risk plowing that into a wall or blowing something at 100+? You'd probably want that car in a blast-proof and disaster-proof garage made out of the kind of plexiglass they'd use at Sea World so you could look at it all day without ever risking any harm.It's nice to dream about such cars.. but the reality looks a bit unappealing to me. If I were going to (and if I was able to) drop that kind of money on a car, it would be some "run-of-the-mill" (as ROTM as they can get, anyway) base-model Ferrari, something that if I screwed it up in a blonde moment of epic proportions, I could always either get it fixed or replace it. Of course, that's an altogether different harsh reality in itself.. but maybe not so harsh as a one-off like that "SN65".Sorry for the long bucket of cold water.. but I'm feeling rather disillusioned with cars tonight.
