Got the new alt & tensioner on but...

I broke the tensioner tightening bolt off, how would you guys go about fixing this?
Current: 1986 Thunderbird, 105k 3.8/C5, 2 tone  Midnight Wine/Medium Taupe, wing windows, wire wheel covers.


Former: 1985 Cougar GS 115k Oxford White/Regatta Blue, 5.0, full console, 14" 8 hole aluminum T-Bird rims, Edelbrock valve covers.

Flap disc, clean the coating off, reweld with penetration.

If the belt is tight and you have it locked down with the other fasteners it should be fine.

Can you exchange the tensioner for a new one?
88 Thunderbird LX: 306, Edelbrock Performer heads, Comp 266HR cam, Edelbrock Performer RPM intake, bunch of other stuff.

I got the parts from RA, but yeah, I should be able to.

So that nut just pushes against the tensioner to push the belt down and keep it tight, right? You could try putting another nut behind the "broke" one. the second nut would lock it in place

Id just swap the nut from over the top of the bracket where the weld broke to underneath it. Hold it in place/position with a wrench, tighten it down with a ratchet, call it a day.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking too, hopefully the bolt is long enough.
