I just looked at it again, and Im sure the underside is crusty and the bottom of both doors is missing...But its kinda amazing it doesnt have any more rust under the back window by the trunk then it does.  By this time, most of the ones I happen across have it there bad.

Its a fox, and its always crusty in the same spots.  I would be shocked if the underside of the metal inside the trunk below the window was not rusty.  I have that in one corner of my 87 Cougar.  No exterior sign of rust, but a rotted spot on the inside.  piss poor design in that area, i doubt they expected any of these cars to be road worthy 30+ years later.

That seems to be a Cougar weak point. My Thunderbird is like new in that area.

People tell me they're impressed by how clean/rust-free my cars are.
I sit there and enjoy the praise, basking in the "whole picture"....while simultaneously being aggravated mentally, knowing the existence of all of the hidden rust. Small, miniscule? Sure. But existent.
1987 20th Anniversary Cougar, 302 "5.0" GT-40 heads (F3ZE '93 Cobra) and TMoss Ported H.O. intake, H.O. camshaft
2.5" Duals, no cats, Flowmaster 40s, Richmond 3.73s w/ Trac-Lok, maxed out Baumann shift kit, 3000 RPM Dirty Dog non-lock TC
Aside from the Mustang crinkle headers, still looks like it's only 150 HP...

1988 Black XR7 Procharger P600B intercooled, Edelbrock Performer non-RPM heads, GT40 intake AOD, 13 PSI @5000 RPM. 93 octane

In time, in time.
Some of it just isn't worth the cost though. Like what's inside the red car's rear subframe. No structural issues...but I know it's there because I've pointed a flashlight, etc. None of my "toys" ever get wet for any reason,
