No, that was Chicago, according to Little Nicky. :rollin:

Pffff lol. I don't think I ever saw that movie actually.
Speaking of funny things and Chicago the city, I did not notice the "1222 down" at first. Wow. That car lot must have just fallen into possession of it from a friend/family member. Who the hell would buy something this rotten to try and flip...
1987 20th Anniversary Cougar, 302 "5.0" GT-40 heads (F3ZE '93 Cobra) and TMoss Ported H.O. intake, H.O. camshaft
2.5" Duals, no cats, Flowmaster 40s, Richmond 3.73s w/ Trac-Lok, maxed out Baumann shift kit, 3000 RPM Dirty Dog non-lock TC
Aside from the Mustang crinkle headers, still looks like it's only 150 HP...
1988 Black XR7 Trick Flow top end, Tremec 3550
1988 Black XR7 Procharger P600B intercooled, Edelbrock Performer non-RPM heads, GT40 intake AOD, 13 PSI @5000 RPM. 93 octane

How far down the food chain do you have to fall that your best option is a rusty 31 year old car that you have to put $1222 down on and make payments?
88 Thunderbird LX: 306, Edelbrock Performer heads, Comp 266HR cam, Edelbrock Performer RPM intake, bunch of other stuff.

(Edited to reflect apology above)...

So let me get this straight.  In order to make your point about taking offense to a religous slight... you then proceed to include not one but two "f"bombs AND a "gd" ??

 Seriously???

You might want to consider how easily someone else might put your name in place of Mr. Johnsons in the last sentence you wrote above.

I smell a teachable moment. Take a refresher read on the definitions of hypocrisy, irony, graciousness,  blasphemy and etiquette and then come back here.    You'll know what to do.

I will try very hard to reply in a calm and courteous manner here.  I will make several points to you, all of which have nothing to do with the original comments made by myself and Beau.... (Thunderbirdsport302).

1. Beau and I know each other on this message board for many years.  We have bantered about all things Fox and have always had a pleasant energy between us.
2. If you read my posts you would have seen that i gave him the benefit of the doubt as to his intent from my first comments.  I never accused anyone of hurtful or malicious intent.
3. I tried by citing examples (not my words on post # 6 i straight copied and pasted commentary about the congressman and his behavior.) Those were not my words, and was merely attempting to illustrate how the term used was construed by others.  We are all adults here, and the expletives were not leveled at the OP or anyone here.  They were summing up another persons feelings about the Congressmans hurtful comments.  To my knowledge i don't think anyones kids read through these threads.
4. The comments were answered by and apologized for as i knew they would be, because he is a great guy and a stand-up person.
5. I gracefully accepted the apology and promptly let him off the hook as i knew there was zero intent to inflame, insult or injure anyone.
6. I pm'ed him as well to thank him for being so cool about it.
7. If you scroll through the posts after his apology and my acceptance, did you see the lack of continuance of said issue?  That is because the matter was settled and buried in my opinion.
8. I would gently suggest to you, since i do not know you at all, that before you throw around judgement of others on a message board where you have a post count of 8, maybe observe, look around even ask about people before you are so quick to judge me or my comments.  I am a 46 year old man, who has always travelled a moral course, and taken the high road whenever possible.  I certainly do not need lessons on said items least of all from you.
By the way, my name is David, i have been a contributing member here for many years.  I have always sought to help others, make friends and stick up for people when i felt the moment dictated.  That is from following my moral center.
9. I will try and give you the benefit of the doubt, that perhaps you just did not read through all of the commentary and were quick to judge.  I stand by my comments, and i can speak for Beau that he stands by his apology/retraction.  Im not sure what you hope to achieve here other than inflame or incite.
Thanks for reading this to the end.

LOL. Who in the hell are you?

You've got 8 posts in 4 and half years and you think you know us?

I'm gonna be nice here, and simply say that what I said wasn't thought out, typed out, or bore any malicious intent or was intended as any kind of religious insult.
So..why are you kicking THIS up? Did I harm you in a past life? Dog eat your breakfast? Shart in your BVD's this morning?

Thank you for the backup..but, I'm a big boy, so no thanks. I can handle my own, and he and I settled whatever it was between us...like adults. Which is more than what I can say for the reply YOU made.

Now...shall we be adults again? Please? I'm even asking nicely, and anyone here knows I never do that shiznit. ;)

Some people just love drama. If there isn't any they find a way to start it. Dave and Beau took care of the issue and it was done. Why does it have to get stirred up again?

I can certainly appreciate a calm and measured response, but in reading yours it quickly became obvious by the points you enumerated that you missed the point wholly.

One of the points being that what you took the time to write, cite or quote would be to some,  as bad or worse than what you took exception to originally. I did not judge you.  I judged what was written to be offensive and quite frankly, unneeded. Which it is. Not one thing in your response to me changes that. As a practicing Christian I dont see the need for it and since neither of us can know for certain whether kids, clergy or anyone else might be reading this, its probably a good idea to keep it clean if for nothing else for appearances sake.

Which brings us to the other point, appearances.  In attempting to deflect and back pedal your way out of owning up to your error in judgement by trying to pull rank with age, history on the site, relationship with other poster, and other irrelevant mentions...you went out of your way to make yourself appear to be doubling down on poor judgement and self buttstuffysis of what you wrote. Not how I'd play it, but it is revealing.

ThunderbirdSport302 I appreciate your friendship with MY83T and the understanding you came to after apologizing, but I reference and read more than I comment on this board and simply dont think it helps the board or anyone here to make it offensive for readers to do that. For the same reasons you wouldnt tell MY83T that its a public board he can eitber deal with your remarks or leave..you should understand why I'd rather make it better for everybody.  This goes double for the other poster commenting about drama. Grow up.

I do not think i missed the point at all actually and i am not trying to be difficult here.  There is absolutely no comparison between a racial/religious slur (however unintentional) and some foul language that attempted to bring home the point of how touchy a subject this can be.  This was not using off color language for its own sake, and as stated previously was not my own words.  I don't use that kind of language typically and never use it here.  Using a swear word in context is not in the same galaxy as smearing someone for their religious or ethnic background, and that i actually do take exception to.  I am unaware of any clergy that are members here, but i would rather think if there were any the offense they would take would be based upon the original thought of not calling into question anyones character based upon religion or ethnicity. Not for a some ugly words that were cited to try to explain the real point at hand.  On the eve of the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Auchwitz concentration camp, there has never been a better time to reflect on hate speech and ugly words.  I lost family to the holocaust, and personally know several survivors who have shared their 1st hand accounts with me.  I will deem when and how to make a point to ensure that this kind of thing never gets off the ground again.  Its starts with words, it always does........ i was not hiding, nor was i trying to.  I tried very hard to courteously address your comments, of which we can just agree to disagree.  This forum has never needed the morality police, as we are all grown men wearing our big boy underwear.  In the years i have been on here, i have rarely seen a situation where two adults could not hash out a disagreement.  If the bad words were upsetting to you, i personally apologize to you for offending your sensibilities.  I do not, however apologize for the point i tried to bring home, choice of language copied and pasted aside.  In summary this is how i perceive this discussion:

1. Beau made a comment
2. I pointed out to Beau he hurt my feelings
3. Beau said he was sorry
4. I accepted his apology
5. I got called out for some cuss words that offended someone else
6. I said i am sorry

Can we talk about the py, rusty overpriced hunk of  for sale in this thread now?

Pleasant day.....

David

I read this as it unfolded.  It was handled well on BOTH sides.  No further commentary concerning that subject was needed.
