BlkBrd is breathing a little easier now!

When I bought my TC (BLKBRD) a couple of years ago it had a 3" crack that ran along the top of the cast-iron turbo exhaust elbow. Since the car already had a 3" down-pipe, and 2 1/2" dual catless exhaust to the rear bumper I wanted to do a more complete breathing fix when I repaired it.
I had a 3" steel tubing elbow fabricated and then a mechanic friend who is also a fabricator installed it.  He cut pieces from a mandrel bent U and made two 45º bend pipes and used a flex pipe from Stinger to complete the installation. Below are the pics of the process:

Steel elbow & new oxygen sensor installed

Flex pipe & first 45º piece installed

Buttoned up tight with the second 45º piece & a Stinger Clamp

For those interested, that IHI down elbow is a new build unit, not built using an old elbow. New laser cut , and aluminized mandrel bent elbow. Fabrication included the proper cut for the additional material to allow the flow from the wastegate port to enter the main tube. I wish I had remembered to take pics before I shipped it.
88 TC 5speed, 168000+ miles, stock 2.3T long block, ported RFE6 exhaust, Evergreen T3 running 15#'s.
Up next: FMIC, fresh air intake, ported intakes, ported big valve head.

John, if I had known you wanted pics of it I could have snapped them prior to installation. It is a beautiful piece of work.......thanks
