Rear deck cover August 09, 2014, 03:31:48 PM I want to remove the rear deck to replace the carpet material. Will I have to remove the side interior trim by the quarter windows or no?. Also what are the speaker size in the back as I hope to replace those also. Thanks. Quote Selected

Rear deck cover Reply #3 – August 09, 2014, 09:15:59 PM Its two bolts on the floor, and I think 6 screws. No big deal. Quote Selected
Rear deck cover Reply #4 – August 09, 2014, 09:49:16 PM The rear speakers are 6x8, but you have to get them from the bottom (in the trunk). Quote Selected

No big deal.Hopefully those two bolts on the floor aren't rusted. If I need to remove the C-pillar trim, I usually loosen the back half of the A-pillar trim as well as loosen the upper rear window trim. Pulling the front seat belts through the C-pillar trim slots allows you to move those pieces of trim out of the way if you don't want them hanging there. If you need to take them off for your project, might as well remove the C-pillar emblems and clean up the paint on the outside and put a fresh coat of wax there and remove any old wax residue from around the emblem.I've only ever removed that deck carpet once and too long ago to remember if I had to pull the C-pillar trim. I don't remember having to remove that trim but this was back in the 90s. Long time ago. I also remember some sort of thin formed layer of foam attached to the deck carpet. Is there a formed under side of foam attached to that carpet? Can the carpet be easily separated and replaced without messing up the foam? Quote Selected
Rear deck cover Reply #7 – August 11, 2014, 06:03:30 AM All my seats are out and at a shop to be recovered. I thought now was the time to tackle this rear deck project. Yes it dos have some type of padding glued to it. Quote Selected
Rear deck cover Reply #8 – August 11, 2014, 09:04:05 AM I have a really good original one in the dark charcoal color. $50 +shipping. I am guessing that would be around $25 to you. This one came from an 88 TC that was apparently kept out of the sun. Not faded. Quote Selected
Rear deck cover Reply #9 – August 19, 2014, 06:05:44 AM Well, I finished it. Found some speaker box carpet on Ebay the right color and it worked pretty good. Pretty simple job and well worth it. After I trimmed it to fit I used spray glue and then let it dry over night and popped it back in. While I was at it I replaced the 3rd brake light bulbs and the round light bulbs as well. Thought this may save me time down the road. Quote Selected
