Year and engine, please, I'll ask about it in my parts dept.  If I know where you live, I may be able to tell you if anyone near you has one.

Thank you,  Very kind.

The Ford PN is E6SZ-9A758-A, but nationwide there are none in stock, you can still google it, though and maybe find one on ebay or something.  Alternatively, CA9033 is available from autozone for under $50.  The part is 86-88 only.

Here is a part number for the 82-87 3.8 that is in stock. Also list 83-85 2.3 and 5.0, but does not have either in stock. Still working on the 88 3.8, but I have a feeling that the 5.0 cable should work.

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

After a lot of reading, 94-95 mustang guys use the fox throttle cabble when they get rid of the cruddy 94-95 style intake, but its about a foot too long, but works and functions fine.

I am of the opinion that a 3.8 94-98 cable should work, and that a fox 5.0 will. It just might be a bit long. One way to check, would be to see if the 94-04 v-6 stang guys swap to a 5.0 cable or not if they go to the regular intake.

I spent about 2 hours trying to weed through all the bull  that comes up any time you put mustang into a google search, and gave up.

I couldn't even figure out length differances, if any, between the 3.8 and 5.0 motors for 94-95. Its like as soon as mustang in thrown into a product, suddenly noone care about specs or information.

The 84-87 3.8 cable is short, about 20". The turbo coupe 86-87 is 36" and the beloved 86-88 5.0 cable is 30.25-30.65, and near as I can tellb looks the same as the 86-93 nustang cable. However, I could not find a single number for the mustang cable.

I would assume the 3.8 with its similar layout and throttle body location in 88, that the 86-88 5.0 cable should work, but may be slightly too short. If this is the case, the extra 6" of the turbo coupe, or a 94 up 3.8 cable may suffice.

But like I said, could find a single length number for mustang cables.

Hopefully it's not a stretched cable, I checked it and it seemed to be fine it was probably the floor mat like FoeYouknow said, and worst case scenario if it is stretched I now have the info to find a replacement.

The thing that I'm wrried a bout is the connector. As I said before, I know for a fact the kickdown cable is different. We don't have to worry about that connector that breaks and pops off or whatever. I'm thinking the cable may be different for the TB as well. You are probably right that the 94-98 would be the same but I don't think 5.0's will work. But I don't know much about them....

Here is a pic of what the connector looks like and I tried to get it to kind of show how is bolted to the intake bracket too.

Looks identicle on the end of the throttle cable to my. 88 crownvic with the rotated intake. I'm going to be doing some junkyarding this weekend, I'll see if I can get a better idea and pictures. There might even be a sn95 mustang or two.
