blue smoke

whenever i start my car up a cloud of blue smoke comes out of my exhaust. it keeps putting out clouds of blue smoke until the engine gets hot and then even if i rev it, no blue smoke comes out. Leaving work friday i did a little fish tail in the parking lot and when i stopped at the exit a cloud of blue smoke was all around my car. Any ideas on what this might be?

Usually the first thing to look at with those symptoms is valve seals , but it is really impossible to diagnose over the internet

They can be replaced without taking off the heads.  Fill the cylinders with air and remove the valve springs and retainers. Replace the seals and put it all back together. Piece of CAKE

1) Check the pcv system.
2) Check the intake for signs of oil. Start at the compressor outlet, if you have oil there, check that the VC breather is clean and functioning properly.
3) If pcv and VC breather are clean and working, and you have oil in the intake tract starting after the compressor, I would start to suspect the oil seal in the turbo.
4) If you don't have oil in the intake, but you're buring oil, and you have evidence of oil in the cylinders, you're looking at possibly the valve seals, or rings.

I had the same issues 3 engines ago...it was my valve seals....not saying that's your problem, but it may very well be.

Well it looks like its going to be either the valve or cylinder walls but when i had my head off my walls looked perfect. A guy from a local mustang shop said the head will most likely have to be taken the head off again and have the shop that worked on my head check it out. I went through a whole oil pan in 3 months....

Check the simple things before you go pulling the head off again. Find out if you're oil burning issue is PVC or turbo related before you go through the trouble of pulling the head. Also, as cheap and easy to replace as the valve seals are, I'd try those before pulling the head.
Just because your cylinder walls looked fine doesn't mean the rings aren't on the way out, but I'm not saying that's your problem.

it could be blow by from the oil rings onthe pistons and you burning oil but you never no if you have high milage or over filled the motor with oilare the causes of bad rings.
