They snap across the back holding the headliner up.

This.

Every Fox I've had has never had any extra "clips" holding the headliner up.  The interior trim panels (and the light) have been all that was needed.

The 87-88 Thunderbirds have little push clips across the back by the window to hold up the headliner. Similar to the ones that hold the kick panels on.

Yep. I think they are the only Fox bodies that have them. I broke mine when I redid the headliner. I ended up just going to Advance and looking at the plastic push pins till I found some that looked like the factory ones. They may be black and not light gray but who cares. No one can see them unless they are sitting in the back seat looking at the roof.

Mine all broke when I pulled the headliner the other day. I have an automotive paint supply store nearby I was hoping would have some that would match.

I have some in the parts car I can try to remove for you... They are gray, but could be painted to match.

Yeah, it was definitely an '87-88 T-Bird thing. I was amazed at that when I had my '88 Sport...guess Ford had to cut a corner somewhere, right?

I doubt that you'll get them in one piece. Mine were VERY brittle, and I used a trim tool. If my paint store has them I'll buy extras.
