No offense here, but isn't that kind of the same with those new Camaro's? I don't know about Mass., but I see them everywhere here. I understand your point though, I wouldn't want a "belly button" car either, but sadly the new Camaro's (as well as other's) are becoming that way too. But, personal preference is alway key, buy something that makes you happy, it's good you're looking around though, I would've jumped the gun  and mistakenly bought something I would eventually hate. Good luck.

Actually, I think I've seen four camaro's in the past year. Four on the road without dealer plates that is.

That goes to say with any of the new cars really. At least mine is custom/different and turns heads constantly. The new bowtie is everywhere and so is the mustang. Only difference is the '11 mustang is many times a better car imho than the camaro in any trim. That thing sucks and it's ugmo. The guy is local so i figured i'd throw it out there.

To the guy that said you couldn't give him a new mustang or x y z car over a genesis. Sure it's a nice car but i'd have to assume you have yet to drive the twentyeleven mustang GT. I dunno, maybe you have. I'm not trying to devalue your opinion. The Genesis is a nice little car but completely outclassed by the new mustang in every way. If i keep my car i have a feeling it will have a new coyote under the hood before long.
I wasn't trying to insult you. Please don't take it that way. I have to disagree with you about the Mustang vs. Camaro debate. That 6.2 in the Camaro is a powerhouse. I was going to stop by and look at a mustang today, but it was raining. The genesis is a nice car a everyday drivable car, but it's nothing the Camaro boarders on something that can't be driven daily. The mustang, I don't know. It looks okay but the Camaro is all around a better car. Just looking at the suspension design and the engineering put into it, the mustang is just more of the same.

I dunno, I need something, the old bird is dying.

I can't. It'd have a 20k Thunderbird that I couldn't get 5 grand for if I needed it. Plus It'd have nothing to drive in the interim. The cutlass don't come out of the garage until the roads are clean and clear of salt.

I'm not offended at all. I don't care who does and doesn't like my car for what ever reason at all.

You really think the camaro is better all around? How? The 6.2 may be a powerhouse but the cars are bloated ugly garbage. When i see them running consistent high 13s and low 14s at the track with the power they make it makes me chuckle. I can pull on them with 100 less HP. The mustang can be driven into the 12s by anyone. Its better looking (subjective) out handles, out brakes and gets better gas mileage than the camaro. The interior imho is much better in the mustang as well. Couple all that with the fact that the camaro was built by a welfare company and i just can't see the appeal.

I dunno, I guess i just don't get it. I wouldn't trade my car strait up for one (camaro) if i had to keep it but i'd say good buy in a new york second for the mustang.

I don't know much about the drag times of the car. The 6.2 and the new 5.0 put out roughly the same power. I honestly like the looks of the Camaro better. The inside, well I don't know. I looked at a new mustang last night. I like the fact the colors of the mustang gauges can be changed; blue, green, red, whatever. The interior wasn't bad, except for the cold metal shifter . The car certainly gets up and goes, and the rev limiter doesn't kill the engine to 2k like in the Camaro. The economy, either car is going to suck down just as much fuel as my stock 5.0 in my Thunderbird. The 1-2mpg difference claimed, won't even be noticed. The mustang does have an optional nav system and "my-key", but the Camaro has the Heads Up Display.

Obviously I looked at a Mustang, I looked at both a 2011 and a 2010. The 2011 was 34,999 without nav. Obviously I could talk them down some. The used one had 34000 miles on it and they were at like 28k OTD but it had nav, etc. 34k miles in a year!? That guy did a shi* ton of driving. The clutch was clearly a little worn, compared to the new one, and it's only the 4.6 motor. Not that there is a huge power difference between the two just saying.

After looking at them, they do have a lot of cool features. I like the color changing gauges, and the light up cup holders etc. But I think the Camaro handled better. I took an onramp in the camaro at 65mph and it was fine. I took a similar onramp at 50 in the 2011 and it was struggling. You could hear it making noises, complaining about what I asked it to do.

As far as "welfare motors" yeah okay, I'll give that one to you. But it's really not Gm's fault. All in all, there is no reason why GM should be paying some moron $34 an hour to screw in headlights all day long. Unions have taken over, and that's why car's are so ed expensive. GM doesn't want to build cars anymore, everything else they do it profitable, except manufacturing cars. GM had the car market by the balls in the 60's and early 70's. Between emissions regulations and unions, they've lost that. I love my 1972 cutlass, but back then a driver didn't pick the car, the car picked him. I digress.

All in all right now it's between a 2011 Camaro 2ss, a 2011 Mustang GT, a 2010 Mustang Gt with 34kmiles, a 2010 Hyundai Genesis Coupe 3.8 Track Pack, and a 2006 Monte Carlo SS.

Sit in one.  I'd be very surprised if you didn't like the interior.

The monte carlo would probably be the best option, it looks good and it has a decent interior and has enough pep to get you down the road. The only draw back to that car is its a Frontwheel drive it wouldn't be as bad if it didn't have that big of a motor siting on the nose, but thats my 2cent's its all in what you like.

97 hp seems to be a pretty big difference to me....
It makes me sad that the Monte is a FWD.
I'd drop consideration of the '10 GT, unless they bring the price down a lot. I've seen 2010 GT's (with less than 300 miles on them) for 25-26K here in Fl.

Eh, all the while making 3X the power. No reason you couldn't make mid 25s with the new GT. I can average 25-30 with mine if i drive it like a normal human being.

You haven't researched the 2011. It's twice the car the 2010 gt is and it donkey stomps the camaro. If i were to buy a newer mustang i wouldnt look at anything other than the 2011.

I call BS on the camaro handaling better. It doesnt. Ive driven them both. Hard. I can out  handle a new camaro with MY car. I could easily out drive myself in a  2011 GT.

Yes it is.

Let me know when you can do this with just a tune with the Camaro.

Considering the fact that a base GT is on par with an M3 and a Boss 302 will flat out SMOKE one, I will agree 100%

It was a lease or a company car.

I bought mine NEW for 26.....as in ordered it to my specifications and drove it home once it was taken off the delivery truck.

For comparative purposes.....

The vibration he speaks of in the ad is in fact his upper control arm.  Torn bushing I'm betting.  Ford decided to use a 14mm thick bolt and holes for the control arm, but on the mount for the arm made 16mm holes..... GENIUS!!!  A major reason why I'm upgrading mine in a few days....
