windsor block measurements ? November 16, 2008, 10:09:25 PM I threaded two longer bolts into the motor mount bosses on a 302, and measured between them at 13 1/8" side to side. Can anyone confirm this? Also from the oil pan up to the boss at 1 5/8", 7" front to back, and the K member on an 87 TC at 16 5/8". That makes a 1 3/4" angle outward, each side, if the 302 is indeed centered....but is it? Quote Selected

windsor block measurements ? Reply #4 – December 27, 2008, 09:23:34 PM Just a little update for all those that don't care. It appears my 400 has the same boss locations as the 302 only they're not drilled or threaded. And the ones that are, are at a 45 degree angle and with the extra bolt hole above. So with some finaggling (sp?), I've come up with an offset of 11/16" to the passenger side....should be the same for all engines, no? and AFAIK, the 460 is the same as the 400 mount (bolt hole locations), only spaced outward differently because of the big block, right?Anyhow, I'll be getting some steel from work soon, and will get to putting them together. I lost in the hood clearance game if I had the huge upper but with the carb intake it was no loss. Quote Selected

windsor block measurements ? Reply #7 – June 09, 2010, 09:59:22 PM OK, here we go again: I brainstormed something different this time. I put 2wd truck 302 mounts on my 400 block, which put's the capture bolt at a straight up and down angle. I then dropped onto a block of wood to leave an imprint, and measured the center to center at 12.63". I then disassembled Chuck's type 6 mounts, and put the lowers onto the K-member.... I hope I put them on right, lol. So I measured the hole center to center at 17.25". I dropped the block w/302 mounts down into the engine bay, and set the passenger side bolt right into the lower mount hole, and naturally the driver side was off roughly 4.63" or so. So I'm guessing for starts, I could just lay in some flat plate with holes drilled to match, and go from there (thickness will determine height). Thoughts, comments? Anyone with the correct measurements between mount bosses yet? I know there's some slop designed into the K-member for adjustment, so it may not be totally accurate. Quote Selected
