fox LTD's Reply #30 – April 16, 2010, 01:45:23 AM I used to own a LTD LX with 40k miles on it and I did enjoy it. I sold it on eBay and it went to SC.The other day I found a LTD cop car for sale and I had to buy it, $400. I need it like a hole in the head and it just sits in my back yard. But I just had to buy it.I will try to find pictures later.TED Quote Selected

Now a Force-Futura would be sweet.I love the Futura coupe so much I would love to have one if the opportunity came up. I have liked those cars since they were brand new. Guess I am a geek like that. When I was younger I always had the idea that I wanted to take one and make a phantom Tbird out of it. That included swapping the front end for a 81-82 Granada style. However when the 83 LTD came out I wanted that nose instead. I would have bird emblems on the wrapover roof quarters and a few stratigically placed elsewhere. After reading a history book on Tbirds complete with styling proposals I learned that the Futura was originally a downsized Thunderbird styling proposal. Quote Selected

fox LTD's Reply #35 – April 21, 2010, 07:28:14 PM Not a problem. I don't wanna be seen in this car until that hood is gone and we fix whatever is wrong with the suspension. :)This car is great, but don't let the eBay auction fool ya...that motor isn't nearly as hot sounding as described. fox LTD's Reply #36 – April 21, 2010, 08:04:28 PM There were no such thing as a "R" code 289, not ever... The solid lifter Hi-Po 289s were "K" codes, maybe he's confused or could be lying... Quote Selected
fox LTD's Reply #37 – April 22, 2010, 10:24:52 AM Well an "R" is just a "K" with a hat on. So maybe that's what he meant. It's a "K with a hat on" code 289. :D Quote Selected
