So the engine wasn't actually under water then, just got moisture in thru the plug holes?

I'd think the harness would be alright...I powerwashed the engine harness on the Tbird...it runs with no issues. Then again, it didn't sit immersed for god-knows how long in standing water.

That engine looks like it's sat in a hay field for 20 years lol.

I have a 351 in my shed with no heads...looks marginally better than that. :hick:

That, im not sure of. i was told by the previous owner water got up to the lower throttle body bore. Which is pretty F'ing high! i couldnt see that much sand getting into the cylinders from just moisture from the spark plug holes.

got all but the 2 nasty pistons out. and I put ALL I had into those last 2, and they wouldn't budge. after loosening the main and rod caps, i pounded on one of crank's counterweights to break it free. after that, I was able to rotate it to get to the converter nuts.

anybody interested in a slightly used 351 block? :)

looks like i need to replace 1 exhaust valve in each head. they seem to be bent slightly, as they wont slide out without tapping them with a hammer. ill see what it what cost to have a machine shop replace those 2 and cut the seats WITHOUT charging me for a complete valve job.

picked up the new(used) shortblock today. very clean and spins over like it should. crank and rod play was very minimal. the bearings look good too, so I may just run at it is.

replace the two bent valves, new seals, slight mill, and clean them up.
