85/86 t/c cluster pictures? Reply #4 – September 03, 2009, 10:27:45 PM I don't have a TC, but swapped an 87 base cluster into my '86 base bird. I would think if the dash wiring is the same on the base birds, then it would be the same on the TC's too. I don't think much was changed from 86 to 87 other than outside cosmetics and addition of a 3rd tail lamp on each side. This would have eliminated a little wiring on the front end, and added a little on the back end, but don't think the dash harness changed at all. Quote Selected
85/86 t/c cluster pictures? Reply #5 – September 06, 2009, 11:05:49 AM The guts inside the 85-86 tach are totally different than the 87-88. And you can't convert the 85-86 tach to read a V8 pulse. Hence why I had to put an 85-86 face on a 87-88 tach when I wanted a boost gauge, no firm ride light to go with my V8 tachometer. Quote Selected

85/86 t/c cluster pictures? Reply #8 – September 08, 2009, 08:09:02 PM well, looks liek whioever did the v8 sawp on this bird also swapped the entire dash harness. i has the dual plugs for the digital dash, doesnt look spliced in anywhere. dotn know what i am going ot do now. i dont think there is enough stretch in the wirs for the brown plug to re-pin the gray plug. i may just re-pin the temp sensior lead and see if it makes the buttstuffog cluster gauge work. if not, digital is staying in and its getting two gauges (temp and oil) in a pillar pod. anyone know what pillar pod fits best? how well does a mustang one fit? just the pod, not the whole pillar with pods molded into it.Mike Quote Selected
