quick and easy, motor disassembly question

When taking the valvetrain out for a cam swap, do the pushrods, lifters and rocker arms have to go back in the same posistion/valve as they were prior?  :hick:

Yes.  But, make sure there's no wear on either the pushrods or the lifters.  You are talking stock replacement cam, right?

NO.You don't have to install the roller lifters in the same spot on a roller engine.you can dump it all in a box (just being extreme as an example),and re-install the parts.No worries.

I just cut up a cardboard box for this.  Make slits for each part in the respective location, then draw "FRONT" and "REAR" on the proper end of the box.  Stick the parts in the slit for the box to hold, put it somewhere safe, and continue working. :)

I'd try to reinstall the parts in the same position, but with a roller cam it isn't absolutely necessary...
