EFI-to-Carb conversion

Hi there

I've already finished my EFI-to-Carb conversion and complete engine repair for my Cougar XR7 5.0 1987.

Here is some part of my setup:
Holley 4BBL 750CFM double pumper,
83'Mustang GT intake,
86'Mustang GT headers,
New mech fuel pump 80GPH and timing cover
New double row timing chain
Federal Mogul hypereuretical pistons
Nascar Performance bearings & rings
etc.

Have some questions...
What kind of vacuum scheme I need to use?
Does the FI TV-cable will work with carb (AOD)?
What type of distributor preffer to use (HEI or not)?

What cam are you running.
'88 Sport--T-5,MGW shifter,Trick Flow R intake,Ed Curtis cam,Trick Flow heads,Scorpion rockers,75mm Accufab t-body,3G,mini starter,Taurus fan,BBK long tube headers,O/R H-Pipe, Flowamaster Super 44's, deep and deeper Cobra R wheels, Mass Air and 24's,8.8 with 3.73's,140 mph speedo,Mach 1 chin spoiler,SN-95 springs,CHE control arms,aluminum drive shaft and a lot more..

Stock roller cam at this time.

IMO, if you plan on staying with that stock cam, that 750 dp might be a tad too much. A 600 cfm carb would seem like a better choice, especially since you using a "small port" E3 4 bbl intake.

I am doing a conversion right now using a 88 H.O. Longblock and a E3 GT 4 bbl intake, shorty tubular headers, stock E7 H.O. heads and a stock H.O. cam.

It should make around 215-220 flywheel h.p.

Might want to use a lokar t.v. cable.

agreed

way too much carb for a low compression 302/306 motor.

Why the carb conversion? EFI is 1,000,000 times better :D

Yes, I'm planning to replace cam some later.
And may be heads. But it's too expensive to ship the heads to my place(

Also I planned to use some supercharger setup.
That's because I've chosen 750CFM carb.

I have Eaton M90 from FI SC.
May be I can use it with carb after some hard works...

I want to know.. what is it - muscle car engine)

And my FI system was finaly disassembled and incomplete, when I bought the car.

The EFI stuff has much better driveability than a carb will. I thought you still had all the EFI stuff on the car but since it's all gone you can go either way. If it was me I would run an EFI set up.

Lokar makes a kickdown cable for aod avalable at summit racing i also used a factory duraspark dist and module go to cool cats for wiring it up i also used same setup for my buddys 390 real simple

try and find a kickdown rod from a cfi car with aod,found one at a pick and pull (83 town car) for $8 with the throttlecable just make sure u get the lever at the tranny. with some adjustment to the rod it will work fine.
