I just got a 2.3n/a and 5-speed trans from a mustang for $80 bucks. The cool thing is it has a mechanical clutch instead of the hydro. I didnt think 2.3 Mustangs had those? I LOVE Craigslist  :D

But why would you want one, there junk and the trans won't hold any real power?????????????
It's not at all the same as the 2.3L turbo.

The 2.3turbo and N/A motors used the same trans.  It has the same gearing and torque capacity.  The V-8 T5's had a higher torque rating and different gearing.
88 TC 5speed, 168000+ miles, stock 2.3T long block, ported RFE6 exhaust, Evergreen T3 running 15#'s.
Up next: FMIC, fresh air intake, ported intakes, ported big valve head.

jangus...that's what i thought...glad i wasnt wrong!  I was more interested in the bellhousing to get rid of the hydro clutch.  The idea is to find a ranger with a blown motor for a couple hundred and r2 it with this.

Having driven both, I prefer the hydro cluch.  Not to mention I don't have to worry about the stinking cable breaking.

A lot of the Rangers had hydro clutches IIRC, I know my 87 did.  I used a Gen 1 clutch master with the TC slave.

And yes, the NA 2.3 T5's are the same as those used on the 2.3Ts.  To know what you really have, look up the code on the tag on the case.

My bad the trans is still a world class if it's 85-on,however according to parts stores on the net there are different part #'s for some of the parts contained within the turbo and non turbo t5's.
This would mean that they are in fact different.
Here is one parts listing i got off the net, there are many more for different parts in the trans:
