What's wrong with the gt40p heads? worked fine for me and bunch of other people i know...

Your right he will be just fine w/GTP heads just keep in mind headers.
If he’s reusing his headers go w/the GT40 if his buying headers then either one. And the GTPs are easy to come buy since they were on 97 to 2000+ explorer and mountainers.

Hit the gasket surfaces with copper brushes.  They'll get the dirt and stuff off, but won't scratch the surface unless it's aluminum.

I called around to the junkyards at one point and was SOL.  I'll try again.  Is it only the early 97s that had the GT40s?  I would drop a biscuit if I could get them for 100/ea let alone the intake for 150. :mullet:

GT40Ps work fine with the FMS headers for them. Heck I even run the standard 135* spark plug boots with no clearance problems. The only problem I have is getting the spark plugs out. You have to use a box end wrench on the spark plug socket as the ratchet won't fit around the header tubes.
