Vibration in floor and gas pedal February 26, 2005, 08:58:56 PM Hey guys. I have an '86 Cougar 5.0 and i'm having a strange problem. Whenever I drive the car now, I can feel this hum or vibration in the floor and on the gas pedal when I first press down on it. When i'm cruising and I let off the gas I can feel it too. I put my head under the car and I can hear it when the car is still and idling. It's a low hum or buzz coming from somewhere near the driver's side firewall. Since this problem started i've been having problems with the car stalling a lot. Especially when i'm at a full stop and go to make a turn. What could this be? I was going to change the front struts tomorrow...should I wait and do it after this is taken care of? Don't want to mess anything else up. Sorry for the long post... Thanks! :flame: Quote Selected

I can feel it in the floor, gas pedal, and shifter. If I accelerate hard I don't feel it, but as soon as I let off the gas I can hear and feel it again. Sounds like it's coming from somewhere near the driver's front wheel or wheelwell. I stuck my head under the car on that side and I can hear something humming near the bottom. Sounds like it's close to the cat coming off of the exhaust manifold. Can't think of any other way to describe it. Quote Selected

The old one were totally shot and the brackets were both broken. New mounts are working fine and engine looks to be sitting higher than it was before. Could I have caused something to go out of adjustment or break when the new mounts went in? Quote Selected
