Very interesting reading. I wish I could find that tupperware cup I had full of silver coins (including a few dozen JFK dollars)

the two coins worth anything in the JFK 50cent denomination are:

1964, JFK half dollar which was the first year of the JFK, last year of silver coinage , the following year was the sandwich coin for all 50, 25 and 10 cent coins. This made the "64 half dollar" a one of a kind coin like nothing else ever in minting history could compare to.
The only other compareable coin would be the 1909 (S mint being the highest value) wheat penny where the designers initials were at the base of the two wheat twigs on the back "vdb" stamped on the rear.  The following year , the designers initials are stamed on the lower profile of lincoln just as any other coin of today.

1976 bicentenial

i collect coins , numistics, and i have noticed some years of coins would contain more silver/less copper than other years.  Ive often wondered about that logic.
