All I can say is feed it from the door to the cabin.shove extra wire in and poke yer head under the dash. see if ya can see it. Its probably being blocked by the heater box.

possibly the red wire you speak of is a turn on for Illuminated entry? maybeh?

Running wire is fun!

Could you flesh out more details about your system?
Did  your radio work with the amp setup before all this and how long have you had your AMP installed? I take it all impedances match? Do you have subwoofers hooked up? How are they hooked up? Do you need an isolated independent ground to your CD player? Did you update your battery ground when you installed your AMP? It would help to know more. Well actually, as much as you can stand to write. :cougarsmily:

so to get to the point.. how do i run the wire through the boots in the doors, and what exactly is that red wire used for?  is it a ground? is it for an amp?  is it another red live power wire?

You might use a coat hanger and some electrical tape. Green is ground the world around or at least black when power is red. Got a meter? If you know your local parts guy at a Ford dealership S/He might be willing to print you up a I.D. diagram if the radio is factory. My money is on a power wire, perhaps to signal an electric antenna or a factory AMP. :2c:

well shiznit i may as well wrap this thread up.  i got it all wired up, and for lack of better speakers it sounds nice.  i went to advance or whatever and got speakerwire... if your in there look for the one with the viper on it.  i dont think its best but it works for very few watts.  but yeh its a headunit with mosfet 50X4, which works perfectly on my 6inch pioneer doors and pioneer 8X9's in the rear dash.  at first i thought the car seemed to packed to get stuff through, its obvious on these cars wiring was done before dash installation.  the what i've seen it called "HVAC) is right behind the glove box.  the first thing you see.  now if you follow that back it wont get you nowhere b/c they put a plastic panel right where the boot hole is.  so i got a coat hanger, used most of it, took some puppiess and made it a perfect rod (the ends are twisted) and i made a loop big enough for the speakerwire to (flex) and make it a tad bit easier.  the back seat was frustraiting but not very hard. i didnt have the torque nut wrenches so the back of the seat had to stay in.  this meant i had to go between the crack... easy?  no, theres an elevation change behind the seat, which natrually wants to push the hanger into the plastic backings on the rear seat.  i fiddled, thought about it, fiddled and inpsected it.  found i had to take the right rear armrest.  that bitch is tought to work with.  wel anyway basically you have to pretty much put your wires right where the factory ones run.  but thats a bit hard with a huge hanger.  once back there it was a sinch, even used the RIGHT fittings on the speakers this time... regular female and small female.

Now the doors.  and back to the dash.  like i said you have to follow the wires or you wont get anywhere.  scrunch the boots together, get the hanger through both end and then get the end of the hanger inside the car.. after that you need to take off the kickpanel, and reach your hand up following the wiring and then when you find it, loop the speaker wire and tape... and best method i got was PULL.  dont pull all hell, but you do need effort in it.  wire up your speaker, figure how you wanna hide the wires in the dash... and repeat for the driverside (which is easier so doesnt need to be explained.)

ok thats for the people wonderin how to do it. and belive it or not i am learning how to use a multimeter in class.  all we're doing so far is measuring resistance and shiznit like that. but we went from lil light boards to half cars.  my transmission just went out so unless i get it fixed i've got a car to work on.  and im ganna do every switch wire myself, exactly how i want it.  also i had to use 4 different color electrical tape, and had a guide on my hand to make sure left from right...
