Potato in the tail pipe. Push it up far enough so he can't see it and when he asks you to have a look at the car you say ' gees dad, sounds like the cat is clogged. That's going to be expensive. You give me the money and I'll fix it for you'

Knock his teeth out. It's either now or over Thanksgiving dinner. Your choice.

My dad has the F-150 and The Explorer. Guess how many times he can lend to me both cars......6 times in four years  IS TOO MUCH...
And i work at both cars like a donkey maintaining them (Oil Changes, spark plugs changes....and at the 4.0 is  f#$%/ng hard to get the 3# out...and some other hard and dirty works)

(i take the cars without permission....)

Payback is bad, but sometimes you need some respect (even from your parents) i agree with the Potato or the ECC ground.

EDIT

Ah, yeah! the closed sparkplug is a good one...

I'm starting to prefer OldRaven's suggestion best.

ever cut the EEC ground off of the negative battery terminal?  ;)

Dude, that's nasty. When I did the 5.8 swap into my red 88, I spent 2 weeks trying to figure out why it would start but not run. I eventually cut all of the grounds on the EEC harness and grounded them all to the chassis. That definetly fixed it, then at Carlisle Tom shows me that one little wire under the hood that I didn't re-connect.

talk about triple DOH!!!!
Duckin' agents like we was trapped in da matrix!

I know if someone swiped my car and tried to weasel out of fixing it right, he'd end up missing a few up front.

Man, I just can't relate to this.

As much of a scumbag as my dad COULD be at times.. at least he was really helpful when it came to the car stuff. I remember him putting four different starters into the '78 Pinto I drove my senior year of high school. Now that I look back, I think I'd have rather he showed me how to do it and had me do it after the first one.. (busted motor mount killed them, according to him after the fact) but I think he was the type (and I often am, as well) that would rather just "git'r'done" than talk about it. Can't fault him too much for it.

The only car thing I fault him for was when he sold off an aluminum dual-quad FE intake w/ Ford stampings on it, back when I had my '64 Galaxie w/ the 390. :p I wanted a crack at that manifold. :p
