First pic is the Fox Mustang rear with stock axles. Second pic is the TBird rear with stock axles. Third pic is the Mustang and Tbird axles side by side. Obviously the Bird axles are the longer ones. The axles are interchangeable between the two housing, you just need the corresponding drums to complete the swap.

Drum comparo. TBird drum has the noticeable recess to accommodate the longer axles.

Yup, that's how it is on the 83-85's.  :D

If you had an 86 you'd have the odd-ball housing.

Again, just for reference.  Those TBird axles are the same length as the 94-98 Mustang ones too....
