Electronic Climate Control - can I remove temp sensor (answer, yes) September 23, 2017, 11:28:31 AM A squirrel chewed through the heater hose (maybe it drank antifreeze and died ) and I only have a non ECC replacement hose. Well, I decided I don't care if it works like it's supposed to cuz I never use it anyway. I tested the thermal switch and it's Normally Closed. I heated it and it opened up, meaning I can just remove it and the system will work fine, it just won't wait until the water is hot before operating. I apologize if this is common knowledge. :hick: Quote Selected
Electronic Climate Control - can I remove temp sensor (answer, yes) Reply #1 – September 23, 2017, 08:27:54 PM I bypassed mine years ago due to not being able to find the heater hoses as well. Quote Selected
Electronic Climate Control - can I remove temp sensor (answer, yes) Reply #2 – September 23, 2017, 10:51:13 PM O'Reilly's sells the correct hose, if need be.The Mark VII uses the same setup. When I had one that same hose split. I just got two non ecc hoses and cut them to match the two ecc hoses. Worked fine. Quote Selected
Electronic Climate Control - can I remove temp sensor (answer, yes) Reply #3 – September 24, 2017, 04:43:51 AM That sensor just keeps the heater from turning on before a certain engine temp is reached. I personally despise the atc setup. Its almost a deal breaker for me when I look at a car.But yeah, just bypass it. Won't hurt anything. Quote Selected

Its almost a deal breaker for me when I look at a car.On the Turbo Coupes I owned I feel same , would turn blower on high long before any real heat was available... Seems more liveable in newer models, but still something I'd just as soon not have...When I bought my white TC for swap, two things it absolutely could not have, EATC, a hole in roof and preferably no leather... Figured I could swap seats tho if necessary... Quote Selected
