Trunk lid tension rods September 10, 2011, 12:31:49 PM Hi,Does anybody have a procedure for reinstalling the tension rods that hold the trunk open? My new cat came with a broom handle to keep the lid up. I was able to get the rods reinserted in the hinge receivers, but lid still won't stay up. Any pics would help, too. Thanks,Dave Quote Selected

Trunk lid tension rods Reply #4 – October 29, 2013, 03:18:48 AM Yeah those things are wicked. All i did was lay in my trunk, ad force that thing in! Praying the entire time lol Those things have alot of tension. When the tension side that holds the hood open snapped, it shut my trunk so hard, i thought someone shot off a 12 guage. Now my trunk lid body lines are actually crooked. Quote Selected

Trunk lid tension rods Reply #10 – November 13, 2013, 09:30:59 PM If you think THESE are hard, you should remove the trim from the trunk of a 13-present Fusion. They went back to torsion bars and THEY SUCK. Quote Selected
