Probably means the guide channels, the felt-lined parts that run up and down at the front and rear of the glass. If they're warped, the glass can jam tight enough to rip the clips off, if you really "crank" on the crank, or just keep holding the button (for electrics).

The tracks I refer to are the front-to-back greasy metal rails that bolt to the door metal and the window clips, and "contain" the rollers on the ends of the "scissor" assembly. Besides crud in the tracks possibly binding them, if the tracks aren't parallel with each other, the movement of the parts can tilt the upper track (with the window clips) hard enough to rip the clips off, as one roller tries to go straight, and the other tries to go uphill.

It's all very complicated (though it looks simple), and I wish I had a nice CADD program to whip up an animated picture to help explain. Maybe later.

Too bad we don't have the type Fairmonts use... felt channels, and a single guide in the middle, sliding up a tube.
