quarter glass

Did the Sport Tbirds  quarter glass come w/o the chrome?
87 Tbird LX w/Factory floor shifter:D   3G upgrade. The Sports had black trim. Same as the turbo coupe. There's a car at the yard here that I stripped a lot of parts from with almost mint 1/4 windows with chrome.

I have a NOS set for my Bird when the time comes for paint. I have a set that are black I will be selling. I will take a closer look at them. Seems they look a little different than TC glass?

Sport and TC glass are identical. The chrome on the 3.8 and non Sport cars is simply an added on piece. It's a little rough to get off, but once it's off, there's no difference.

I have a couple of sets as well...

How does the rubber look after the chrome has been removed? Picking up cheaper chrome windows makes sense if they can be found cheaper than the black.

I don't know. The only set I had, I traded with a guy here a long time ago. Probably some sort of adhesive is used, but shouldn't be much more than that, if even that. Might be like a crimped, or press fit.

If I ever encounter another, I'll yank the trim off to see what happens. Hopefully it's not a car that belongs to someone on here! :-O :-P

The chrome peels off easily. In guessing adhesive. My last 87 lx bird i caught the trim with a window ser and the whole thing came off.
