they fit perfectly!!!
thought you all would like to know the "hat" size is identical from what my naked eye can tell, the 96 injector (edit per post 5) pops right up in the hat and fits really snug.

Make sure those later injectors have same connector sockets for the foxbody injector harness.  They changed that in a newer generation of those Bosch injectors but they have adapters to pigtail them in.

I used that style for years in the SPort until I went to the Summit 24's.

Uhh, did you mean 1996? All the explorer 5.0's (96-01) used 19lb injectors with the EV1 connector, will swap right into the fox rail. I'm using a set currently.
I'm pretty sure everything in 2006 is using EV6 connectors.

Those injectors fit fine and same as the factory harness connector.  Just 4 hole pintle and supposedly atomize the fuel better.

Thats what I was referring to, I was unsure when they switched to the EV6 connector.  I have a set of the 96-01 EV1 19lbrs I am going to use in my Explorer intake upgrade; they came with the intake I just changed the screens, caps and orings.

i have to admit, the 96 injector screes are more forgiving in design than the previous screens i have *tossed out*.
they have less filtration than the 80's screens.

i dont use the injector screens personally.
