i'm here anyway i don't have internet on my computer for now. thats another long story..

anyway

now as for the dyno run well!!!

like i said to everyone that was there..theres no way it's only making 311HP.but i know everyone going to say i'm just making excuses for why it only made just over 300HP but i'm not just going to lie down on this one :p  :yuck:  :disappoin

i know something was worng one i watched three dyno runs before me and on my dyno run i herd a loud hiss from the dyno which i did'nt hear from the other dyno runs.. which leaves me to beleave that the brakes on the dyno did'nt release corectly. but even i can say that even that is if'y and just might be a fluke and or might not be true.. but!! i allso told the guy doing the dyno run when he got in the car that he had to release the E brake and told him where it was and about 10 seconds later he started the car and tryed to move the car and the car moved but slow and of corse he forgot to release it and i know he aplyed the Ebrake on the dyno so i think he forgot to release it. and the Ebrake was aplyed when i got back in the car..again but hey who knows ;)

so to solve this i'm not going to do any tuning at all. to see what the car makes and bring it to a dyno near me to a shop in sekonk MA.. to see what the motor makes. and if it is true which i doubt it.. then i got some major hunting to do why it's only making 311HP..

have a nice day everyone

Nick

Yeah I was wondering that myself how were the other cars running on the dyno.. before and after your run..

How does the car feel now compared to the way it did with the other intake combo when you came down to Philly? I drove Bill's car and yours, and they are night and day completely (sorry bill) and I think he dyno'd around 320 rwhp correct?

It is possible talking about the dyno's brake. The car before you had a 150shot of go-go juice and he said he made a lot more hp the year before. Infact, I think Nick was talking to him about it. We're all waiting for the new dyno results.

My first thought looking at the intake...  you need a new elbow.  There's practically no plenum on that and its really vital with FI to have a nice sized plenum and good sized runners....  While your setup, especially with the very short runners and centrifigul sc.... can make some rediculous numbers (i dont like cent. sc's cause all the power is in the top of the rpm range)  You have to do everything you can to get that power build earlier... so, short runner and high rpm peak leaves you with plenum size to play with... and about the only way to do that now is to make a new elbow.  Check into the shapes that the aftermarket for 4.6's is comming out with... take that and run with it.  Add dynotuning and I think you'll be ok.

Short runners with a s/c is the way to go on a 5.0 motor. Long runners are the setup for n/a.  While long runners do create awesome low end torque, I think that NICK is looking for big power gains. I'm also pretty sure he knows what he's doing.

Hey NICK, am I gonna have to come back there and show you how to tune that thing :rollin:  :giggle:

yeah... but everyone that knows their head from their ass knows that its give and take on cars... you cant just make ultra short runners on a car with a supercharger that makes all its power up high...  well, you could, but you'll need a valvetrain that can take you up to 8-9k.  and its still gonna be rough getting the torque out of it... This may be a hell of a race car setup... but not for a street car.

Sorry to see your results. Could be a bug, but it's probably accurate. What ya'll have to realize is that the Powerdyne is a joke of a supercharger. It's the cheapest one you can buy, for a reason.

6lbs of boost from it, with a box style intake like that, is gonna be horrible. I think he needs to go back to a stock style intake or buy a bigger supercharger, personally.

To address the post from earlier, there's nothing wrong with the belts on these. I was running too small a pulley, and the containing grooves on my crank pulley were worn off. I've since gone back to the 9lb supercharger pulley, and an overdriven 8 rib crank pulley. So far, the drive belt is solid as a rock.

What kind of boost #'s are you showing on your gauge with that intake, Nick??

If it makes you feel any better, my 460 Crown Vic build dyno'd at 225 RWHP with 340 RWTQ, a few weeks ago. I've been inching my way towards a solution with that. I won't be happy until it's putting down at least 300/400. I expected to equal the power output of the Cougar, and it's just not gonna happen without some serious heads, or forced induction. Hmmmm..
