Doesn't Crane make the Ford Racing rockers? Or did I mix up the brand?

I've got a set of roller rockers I bought from Vinnie awhile back, they look like great stuff. I'll go snap a pic of 'em here in a few. I'm getting ready to take the 50 dollar 5.0 (the one that had coolant in 2 cylinders when I tore it down) to the shop Monday for a cleaning. I'm also going to discuss with John (shop owner, known him for years) about boring the block, and doing a little port work on my P heads, or if he still does it.

Sorry Tom, didn't mean to hijack...your build has got me motivated to finally get started on my own :)

Mine will just be a 306, big cam, ported heads, Cobra intake (or Explorer, whichever I decide to use), 65mm TB, no power adder. I'd like to have around 300 horsepower, but we'll see what the shop guy says about my stuff first.

Crane does makre the FRPP rockers.

Port work on GT40/GT40Ps should put you over 300 flywheel hp easy. My combo with GT40P heads and a 65mm Tb made about 290 at the flywheel. The heads were bone stock except for springs.

Back on topic. I know you're going to run the Trick Flow heads on the 331 but were you going to do any port work to them? They might be a little small for the 331.

Ummm back in the day when I bought them, folks were saying they were too large for a street 302 & more suited for a 351...

I'll see what the machine shop says, but likely I'm running them as is, not really planning to spin it over 6K RPMs...

Guess I'll be the Guenna Pig on those rockers... If I don't like the looks I'll send them back...

I keep hearing that the base Twisted Wedge heads are too small for a 351W. Perhaps Trick Flow has changed the base TW head in the last few years?

I believe it's generally forgotten the TW heads have the intake valve moved closer to the port opening, so the 170cc runner is more the size(ex for length) of conventional heads that have a 190cc port...

No doubt they'd be lacking in a big inch engine running open headers, but on a street 331 with full exhaust, I can't see them as too small...
