AIR FUEL SPARK, which one is missing? If its too much fuel the plug would be wet, If I were you Id pull a plug and see what it looks like. I hate the opti-spark. If you decide to keep the car A lot of guys drill out a grease fitting to make it hollow and then install it in the weep hole. This diverts the coolant from the distributor in the event of a water pump failure.

Electric water pump cures the issue along with a waste spark system. If you really want to get fancy the LS 1 computer and COP is the best answer bar none. That completely eliminates the OPTI SPARK and uses trigger control. But i am not buying the shops diagnosis one bit. He clearly has the answer as he wants to buy the CAR!!!!
