Something bad happened to the Tbird today :(

I hope so, I still have to get it in the air far enough to get my fat rear underneath and take subframe measurements!!! LOL

I did get sometime today to start removing some stuff that needs to be out of the way for the upper core support to be removed and the new welded on.

indeed indeed.. i love the atmosphere these bird/cat/fox forums bring (except 4EP as of late).. great people (except the douche stang guys), great cars and great knowledge

Nice way to alienate yourself from the stang guys. As for 4EP, you started a thread that violates the sites purpose and it got closed. Deal with it.
88 TC 5speed, 168000+ miles, stock 2.3T long block, ported RFE6 exhaust, Evergreen T3 running 15#'s.
Up next: FMIC, fresh air intake, ported intakes, ported big valve head.

I've got a bent lower radiator support in my Stang. (Guess I'm a douche Stang guy...)
It's been bent forward like some shiznithead yanked on it with a log chain or cable.

As far as aero vs 4 eyed Stangs, I've owned one of each..the '86 was a coupe as well. Wish I'd never traded it for my first Bird. My aero car is a 90 hatch. I don't think it's faster than any other car on the road. Even if had a 5.0 in it, a new Camry would probably hand it's ass to it on a platinum platter.

No matter what the make a car is...somewhere, there's bound to be an asshole behind the wheel of one.

Oh ya Im fixing it and probably making it a little better in the process. The problem is I have to pay out of pocket, I only had liability on the car. What sucks is Ive been meaning to call my insurance company up and put full on it. Of coarse day late and a dollar short. They put me at fault with only asking me for a short version of what happened and never had me write anything down. Its things like this that really make me hate Dubuque, Ia cops. It seems like they only do a 1/2 @ss job

It's probably better that way. These cars still don't book for much and with that amount of damage they probably would have totaled it.

If I had had full coverage on it and they had totalled it, I would have just bought it back and done what Im doing now. I cant let a good Tbird just die unless its a rust bucket beyond repair. I must be a glutton for punishment!!! LOL

On a side note I think Im starting to believe in 13 being bad luck... Its been 13 years since the last time I was involve in an accident and ironically it was with a Tbird Sport with the 5.0. I did the same thing Im doing with this one, picked up the parts cheap and fixed it!!!
