1988 Cougar Xr7, is it special or what?

Ok, I believe I have the 8.8" rear with a 3.08 with trac lock. I havent pulled the wheels off yet to see if the drum covers are smooth or finned. My wheels are argent with black center caps. I have funky two tone leather sport seats, floor shift, premium sound with graphic equalizer. It also has auto hvac (yuck). Im guessing that the sport suspension is like the LX Sports. Thanx for all the info..

That was the only problem with my 87 XR7.  I refreshed and built up the 7.5 which is on a pallet in my garage and for sale if anyone is interested in a quad shock axle 7.5.  I swapped in an 8.8 with with 3.73's which were updated to 4.30 gears last spring.  If memory serves me correctly, the XR7's did get the preferred upper plenum that allows for more porting, I sold mine to someone in Washington State 4 years ago when I went Carbuerated.
Blueprinted 306, Thumper ported Canfield 195's, TLSR Camshaft, custom motor mounts, Parker funnelweb, Pro Systems Carburetor, Tremec 3550 II, 4.30 gears, Moser Axles, Team Z custom suspension with upper relocation brackets and anti roll bar.  At the track I run M/T 26/10's on Weld Star rims.

Other than that, no, nothing special...just a 22 year old Fox car that only a few select people even give a shiznit about.

Yup.
"lol.. because not too many people care for that style of car"
