Maybe the judicious application of glue will fix the damage done during exploratory surgery.The unlighted visors have a fiberboard insert riveted to the bar.The lighted visors are two pieces of plastic glued/fused together. The lining is stuffed in the resulting seam. The vanity mirror is removable by carefully prying at the lower edge at both corners. The electrical contact also serves as the spring for the vanity 'lid'.Remove the mirror, then the covering material can be removed. If the plastic halves are separable, please let me know how to do it. Quote Selected

The horizontal metal bar across the top serves as a spring for the lid and contact switch. Three tabs along the bottom edge of the mirror lock it in place.
