I used Bosch platinums with the FRPP 9MM wires on my '87 Sport and it ran like shiznit. After hearing horror stories about 'em I pulled the platinums and installed a set of Autolites and it ran like new again

I have Bosch Platinums in my 3.8 and I have had no problems. They even worked fine when they got drowned in oil from the clogged PCV valve.

but also remember guys, youre in non-boosted applications

ive been told that with even some decent, non-motorcraft wires, the boost is able to "blow out" the spark since the wires arnt able to conduct the proper amount of energy, i cant say how true that is or not, but aparantly true enough

hell, in my 3.8L, i have the cheapest wires, and cheapest bosch plugs, and it ran like a champ
It's Gumby's fault.

just for the hell of it Shawn what did you gap the plugs at on the TC?

the autolite spark plug number is 764 not 25's or 26's and they get gapped at .034 not .044 or .054 ;)

oh and i think you ment your 3.8 ran like a chump! not a champ :raspberry

I run motorsport 9mm wires, with autolite double platinum 23's on my combo. Car runs like a raped ape on this setup. MSD box also helps with the spark control.
