If I was offering constructive criticism then you  are correct I went about it the wrong way. However I was not, I'm telling you  you are a childish idiot and you should grow up and take responsibility for your  own choices and stop blaming it on your father or your EX manager or whoever  else is out there you can blame for every bad thing that happens in your life. I  was going to drop this but since I have your attention allow me to  elaborate...

"1. The manager  did not tell me that I need to get it out of there, he told an  employee"
Who the hell cares? Nothing should need to be said, no warning, no  courtesy, you don't even work there anymore get your  hulk out of SEARS  parking lot... it's a no brainer!

"2. Yes, that may be a warning, but how about being courteous and giving me  a ring before the tow company was called, "
Courteous? You have your broken down car parked in a sears parking lot! As  a manager I would have had it towed the day it showed up. He has a  responsibility to be courteous to the store, the owners, and the customers. Ex  employee, not so much.

"3. I  completely agree with you on the storage facility part, but with permission from  management, security and 2 others doing the same, I don't see a problem with  it."
I see a problem with it. He should be fired! see #2 above. if I even have  my car so much as get a flat (with no spare handy) in a store parking lot and I  contact management and let them know I have an issue and assure them I will be  getting it out of there in under 24 hours. Then I do it. It's only COURTEOUS!!

As for the rest of it with your dad not wanting it  there and all, that's his option, it's his house. Only thing I can see he could  have done wrong in that part was not giving you some notice (just because you  fail to mention it doesn't mean he didn't.. see the first full sentence of your  first post.. three sides to every story, yours, his and the truth.) My dad was  the same way, he told me up front "No non running cars on the property (and we  had 7 acres) If I brought a non running car to his place he would have been on  the phone with the tow company before we ever got it unhooked or got the motor  out of it." I was similar with my two sons, I allowed the car BUT they had to  stay on it.. they lost there job Tow Truck Time, they found a girl and lost  interest, Tow Truck Time, there grades drop, Tow Truck Time.. That was MY  choice, it was MY house, not there's.

As for having the $ for a place to store it... so  you had a place and STILL chose to use SEARS parking lot. I assumed that because  I was obviously giving you too much credit. I assumed it was a finical thing and  not just a blatant USING PEOPLE then blaming them situation.

You want "constructive criticism", then be  constructive. the world or the people in it do not OWE you .. including  constructive criticism.

That was two years ago. I got a letter about two months ago saying I owed them $13000 for storage fee's or the title. The title is in the glove box.

Sorry, but this just totally cracked me up....

OOOH!

I missed that...Pretty bad considering I posted RIGHT after it

Makes MUCH more sense as to why the manager called for the tow.

I thought people had noticed.

When I read the opening statement in this thread, I assumed you were still working at the place as that's how it sounded.  I must have read the other statement about you quitting in the other thread.  Most of the people here; myself included; can not possibly remember every word typed on this message board.  SOme of us re-specify certain things more than once because it will be pertinant to the story in that particular post typed out.

Hindsight shows you might have posted the fact about your quitting in your first post in this thread.

Someone had a good enough memory to remember you posted previously about a job issue and looked for it.  Seems Jim has been on the other side as far as the issue with the first car and your dad.  I can understand why he is passionate concerning that issue.

The way you worded it garnered extra sympathy from me -- my fault for not questioning.  Whether you worded it this way on purpose to gain sympathy from us or in your "rant" you made an honest omission the average person will most likely believe the former.

As I eluded to earlier -- many a good employee are taken advantage of.  The flip side is a bad one will take advantage of the job.  The trick is when being taken advantage of -- and you need/want/have to keep the job draw a line in the sand and do what you must and nothing more.  Don't take advantage in return.  They'll use it against you.
