Are you racing a 1/4 mile, or top end speed..........if your racing 1/4 mile , youd probably lose, like the other guy said its about 200hp.....depending on the models.....the ones ive raced with my mitsubishi mirage , stock engine with nitrous 50 shot, were 160 hp honda vtec engine, and i also raced a 195 hp type r honda too.......i lost to the type r guy but won the vtec honda guy....its makes alot of difference when it comes to weight too....my car was 300 lbs lighter than his honda...........if you definately have to race then i would suggest put everything in whatvere you can......change oil to synthetic , "theyre lighter" .....octane booster do help a tad bit ....ummmm OH! and remove all unnecessary items in car to reduce weight.thats all i can think off man......its  going to be a close race! you got more torque , hes got more HP.........fire it up and lets see who wins eh?.......hehe...if only i can lend you my Nitrous....!Goodluck

These cars (83-88 T-Birds and Cougars) are dog-ass slow

lol, brother, you aint lie'n

my tempo gls (2 door 5 speed with 3.0 V6 approx 840 made and my FG wrecked it 11 days after i bought it. never seen another in person) would outrun any of the tbirds i had. the 03 ols alero (grand am gt basically) is faster than my current 88 sport with the t5, cold air intake, ho upper and tb, headers and true dual, deleted smog and ac....these cars need 250 plus hp before they even realy get to be any real fun....
