Thanks Paul, I guess had I have thought I would have added that. 

Also dont crawl under a raised car unless it is supported by jackstands, on firm level ground.

Dont stick your fingers in the fan when the engine is running either.
 ;)

Or... on a TC, any time the key's on.  Isn't that what the warning sticker on the electric fans says?

Use a long screwdriver with the big end up to your ear.....Makeshift stethescope.  Use it to try and locate the rattle.  I found out that my starter's front bushing was about toast, and between 2100 to 3000 rpms i got a VERY annoying rattle.  It was the last thing I expected it to be.  I would check that first to eliminate it as a possibility.  Putting the car on a lift is very helpful.  that way the car can be revved by an assistant and eveyone stays safe.
