Honda owners are like rabbits......they hide under your shed during the winter and then 30 of them come popping out around spring.

Surely there were some crunched-up Cavaliers or old rusted Civics or even some perfectly good Festivas in that junkyard that were more worthy of a sledgehammer. That bald douchebag saw it as a 'junk car'...we saw it as 'parts'. I think that's what touches a nerve here.

However, the sad reality is that junkyards do exactly that--and worse--to our cars every day. We just don't see it happening.

...Especially with s prices being what they are now. It doesn't make economic sense to let a ton and a half of s metal sit in a yard when they're getting close to $200 a ton for s. Until s prices come down we'll find fewer and fewer of these cars in wreckers.

If he'd have wrecked a Cavalier he'd have been put down in J-body forums. Somewhere somebody would've shat on him if it were a Festiva. We're fans of these cars, but to everyone else they're s metal. Truth hurts...

Exactly, much like this place...

This yard used to have dozens of fox tbirds and cougars but is going out of business soon. Now they are just having fun with the cars there. These two Lincolns were in really good shape when I was there back in May. All the cougars and tbirds they had last year were gone when I went in May and probably were treated much like this.

I think the part that sucks the most is that because these cars have no aftermarket following, we have to depend on junkyards for replacment parts.

It does aggrevate on me when I see them getting crushed.

I saw a mint 4-eye v-6 bird with a blown motor  that was in a yard up the road from me. When I drove by the next day, I saw it being lifted vertically and going into the crusher.

I just wish I had space and money. I'd buy all the junk fox cars I could find and part them out fully before sending them off.

That yard is in North East, MD and the last time I was there, they had 2 complete (and I mean put a key in and start them up) 87-88 TC's, a silver 87-88 TC and a 4 eyed Cougar.

I'm willing to bet that all they have left now are the two 87-88 TCs as they were still good cars. I pulled the only part I could really use off of one of them.... Mint center console control panel

my local yard went from 1500 cars down to 250, in the last couple years.  Plus all the ones coming in during that time.  Crunched all the tbirds, and cougars save for one 88 Bostonian edition.  Sad indeed.  S prices will do that.

well...  up here you guys would be happy to hear TC's dont last long at a wreckers...  if they're still there after a month all you'll get is a rusty frame...  they're usually completley stripped...

Nope.  Feezles has one or two cars the last time I checked.  Had to make room for more Cavaliers and Neons.
