You don`t want exhaust going into the air pump. That`s what the check valves are for. Exhaust is going to burn up the pump and might leave you stranded. The post before mine is best. Just leave the hoses off.
Start unhooking stuff and you`ll just make things worse. Stop guessing and take it somewhere for a diagnosis. You`ll waste more time and money guessing. It might be something silly like a vacuum leak.
You really need to know how they do rebuilds. Are they going to use all new parts or just replace what`s worn? Does that include labor to R&I the engine? How long is their guarantee? I`m a Ford dealer tech and we never do rebuilds like that. You`re always better off buying a rebuilt engine. Ford`s been offering a 3 year-36,000 mile warranty on their rebuilds. It`s unlikely a shop like that would give you more than a year guarantee. Also remember you get what you pay for. Hope this is useful.
I`m finding it impossible to locate the felt door glass runs for a door w/o a vent window for my 85 Tbird. I`m looking for NOS parts or the name of an aftermarket company that sells them. I`ve found everything else, but not these. Classique Cars Unlimited has a pretty good set, but it doesn`t have these. I`ve tried Steele Rubber products, but they don`t carry them for these cars. I`ve looked on Ebay and ran an add with International Thunderbird Club that I`m a member of, and still no luck. I did find one NOS listing, but it was for a door with a vent window. Any leads would be appreciated.
