I need a set of used valves. Stock sizes for E7TE heads. As long as they aren't damaged I don't care about the carbon deposits. I only need enough for one head but all 16 would be preferable. Thanks.
Me and my girlfriend just made a bet over a race 1 1/2 years from now. Her soon-to-be Infinity g35 Coupe vs. DarkThunder. Neither one of us has been to a drag strip, but i will be changing that soon... there's one right behind my house, errr.... somewhat. Here are the wages, if she wins, i must buy her all new stereo components of her choosing. Prolly because i kepp telling her not to get the factory package. lol. If i win, she must buy two tags for the each of us. Hers will say '8BYTHDR' and mine will say 'THNDRUS'. XD I must win, i simply must. lol. I'll park beside her every chance i get. Now the real challenge is getting my car into the mid 14s (assuming she keeps it 100% stock... including tires). How much RWHP will i need to get me there??? Hopefully she won't reconsider getting an 05 Mustang GT. *shivers*
I just got my brand new tranny pieces in the mail today. *stoked* TCI Torque Converter, Tranny Rebuild Kit, and Cooler. Anyhoos, the kit has instructions for the valve body mods, but none for the rest of the tranny. what gives??? go to their website... nothing. does anybody know where i can get some freakin instructions? or do i have to buy that stoopid manual. ugh!
or just tell me what i need to look out for. i kinda already took it apart several months ago out of shear curiousity. can't i just slap everything back in there with the newer parts? chastize you TCI!!! *shakefist*
is it really worth it on the street? true, i like to take my corners faster than the average man. and a stiff/noisey ride doesn't bother me in the least. i am willing to ride comfort for handling anyday. but will the almighty torque arm be that much of a difference to warrant the cost? i have planned since forever to get this darn thing, but if it's only marginally better than lowering my car then adios!
i may just settle for subframes connectors and CHE control arms.
that is the question. lol. would it be worthwhile to upgrade to E7TE heads or just stick with my E5TE's? Granted if i could get my hands on some GT40p's i wouldn't have this problem, but i will settle for second best. (stock)
The only difference between the E5's and E7's are chamber size. 69cc vs 64cc. How much hp (tq) would come from decreasing the chamber size by 5ccs? If it's at least 10 hps then i would be happy. ^_^ Especially since the heads can be had for under $100. Also what size valves should i upgrade to or leave them stock? I plan on rebuilding the engine with performance parts. Nothing to wild though. Just a decent street machine.
List of Parts-- >>CompCams 268H Cam Kit >>Crane Cams 1.7 Energizer Rockers >>Edelbrock Performer Intake >>Edelbrock Performer Carb 600CFM >>Sealed Power Rebuild Kit
Any tips/suggestion would be greatly appreciated. ^_^ Oh, and the engine is a pre-81 302. prolly late 70s.
I am selling my stereo that is in DarkThunder. It's a nice one little system, but being without a job for a while and my Bird in need of go parts is forcing me to sell it. The deck is nothing fancy but it gets the job done. List of components is as follows:
Deck: Pioneer DEH-2100 CD Player/45Wx4 MOSFET/One Preout/Detactable Face Door: Sony Xplod 5 1/2 /160w/3-way Rear: Pioneer 6x9/160w/3-way Amp: Sony Xplod 444Wx4 Sub: Lanzar 12 inch Sub/Bandpass Box
Can someone please point me in the direction of any C-4 trans rebuild sites. Or at least tell me what i should be looking for in terms of wear. I have a basic understanding of how everything works, except for that metal brain. Though a couple of weeks ago i'd dare not touched the thing. Planetary whaaa??? O_o? Servos? Bands?
My fingers were itching to get dirty so i started taking it apart. (it's a problem i've had since childhood) and i got down to the ring gear when i realize that maaybe i should make sure that i can put it back together and find out what i should be looking for. Besides all the pretty metal thingies. lol. I've never really had a problem putting stuff back together though... unless it's the interior of a car then don't call me.
I don't remember the exact year but it's a mid 70's, pan fill, C-4 i believe.
I do plan on buying a rebuild/upgrade kit and a new torque converter but i'm just checking all my bases. any suggestions would be helpful too. ^^ thanks!
