The new Mustang is marginal to me.  The powertrain stuff is cool, but the styling lacks something...seems neutered.  I also doubt the Cougar or the Tbird will come back as anything other than some silly niche concept car for 50-somethings that misses the point.  Now if you took a Mustang and changed the grill and taillights and added more chrome and , then maybe they might have an idea.

I agree. If I had the money I would hack up a new Mustang. Fords new design misses the point completely. That challenger is a perfect example of a new-retro look. The tailights new to be reversed and the body(minus the front fenders and rear window) trashed. I love 64-70 stangs to death. But to me they totally ruined an icon. Plus the ricer cougars dont cut it. Older cars are always going to beat them. "You can always upgrade an old car(perfect), you cant(and dont) downgrade a new car". And thats all I have to say.

I have some 4 bolt 4 spoked Rims. I call them imitation cragars. They look like it but are Cal chrome i think. Some center caps and they would pass as real cragars. 13" otherwise I would put them on my cat.

I have had many argument over the 05 mustang and charger. They try to bring back a retro name and make it modern. They are looking for sales because of the name not quality or looks. To bad the Cougar couldnt come back and kick the shiznit out of those cars in sales. What can I say for newer Fords though, I bought an 03 Escape, the Cougar needs some work. So that was my best option. Buy it used from my dads company for 5000. Not bad. Wrigley gum company does some good deals.
