I need to patch a couple holes in my bird and there is a nice TC at the JY that is rust free but i cant think of a clean and relatively quick(not taking all day to cut out the patch with tin snips). Anybody have any ideas on how i could get the patch pieces cut out.
Well im trying to take my carpet out to remove the sound deadening and install subframe connectors. So my question is do i have to remove the dash to get the carpet out?
I want to tint my windows and i figure if i can save myself some time cutting it it would be a good deal considering the price of tint is about that much anyway.
Are the body kits an add on to the stock bumper cover or is it a whole new cover? If it is an add on where does it attach? Pics would be great.
My guess is that it is add on and it attaches just below the moulding. Am i right? Just trying to figure a few things out before I order any parts and i am wanting to get some work done on my car.
I am trying to remove the seat covers off the bottom of the seats and the only problem i am having is i cant get the off the side of the seat. Does anybody know how it comes off? Thanks
The interior of my sport is raven/charcoal and, as seems to be the norm, the seats are faded to blue. Has anyone found a way to dye the covers or is the only hope to find a set that hasnt faded/have them recovered?
I adjusted my TV cable the other day and last night I finally took it out for a little drive around town. I didnt go any faster than 30 MPH but i noticed that now it doesnt shift into second until about 22-24 MPH under light throttle(probably between 1/8th and 1/4 of the peddle travel). This is the first time i have ever adjusted the TV cable and i was wondering if that is normal or if i have the cable too tight. It shifts firmly and doesnt slip so i am not worried too much about it and besides Im not planning on driving it much in the near future. Just trying to make sure i didnt mess it up.
Ok well I am trying to build a media center PC with the following parts i have left out any pci cards cause i just want to get it running first.
Antec Fusion case MSI 945GM2FH mobo 2x512mb DDR2 667mhz Kingston value ram Maxtor 200GB SATA HD Intel Pentium D 820 2.8GHZ CPU
Now everything was new unopened with the exception of the CPU which i got from ebay and it said new in box but when i got it it had been opened and taped shut and there was thermal compound on the heatsink and CPU. Now the problem is when i try to install windows it only gets as far as installing the installation files and then after it reboots it goes to a black screen with a progress bar on the bottom then reboots. I have tried with a 3 regular IDE drives as well as the SATA and none of them do anything different. when i try to boot under safe mode it the last item listed ended in mub.sys or something like that but it immediately rebooted after that i hope someone can help its starting to really irritate me. Thanks
Well i ordered some swaybar bushings and spring isolators(to go with my new motorsport C springs) from CHE and they were supposed to be delivered today. well I checked the tracking number after i saw the truck go by the house and it said it had been delivered. So i go out and look for it and its nowhere to be found. Now either someone was really quick and stole it(i was home the entire time and the truck didnt stop at the house anyway) or the Idiot driver:nkhk: :pbb: :flame: delivered it to the wrong house. Called FedEx and they are going to call the driver and then call and ask about the package. Sorry just felt like i needed to vent a little.
I am hoping to go to the Junkyard sometime soon to get the rear end out of the TC i found and i was wondering what a reasonable price would be for the rear? I am hoping to pay no more than 200 though obviously the less expensive the better. It is out of an Auto car. What do you think is a reasonable price?
Ok well it might be to late considering i already ordered the bushings but i measured my front swaybar on my 88 Sport with a crescent wrench and i got inbetween 1 1/4" and 1 5/16" closer to the 1 5/16". Now the wrench is pretty sloppy but i am not sure that i ordered the right size. I thought that the sports came with 1 5/16" front swaybars so thats what I ordered.
So does anybody think i should have order the 1 1/4"? I guess i will find out when they get here.
I was at the jy getting the front fenders off the TC that i got my bumper cover off of and i found another t-bird. Its it pretty good shape looks like it was pretty well taken care of and it is complete(i think it was for sale somewhere considering there was a for sale sign next to it). Well the problem is the doors are all locked and the hood isnt popped either. Well I thought i had read a thread about opening a locked bird here before but i searched and couldnt find the thread.
SO what is the easiest/quickest way of getting the doors unlocked w/o the keys(no keyless entry either) i dont really want to break a window though i suppose i could if i have to. I would like to look at the interior and maybe take a couple other thing off of the car but i cant get anything without being able to open the doors/hood/trunk.
Well i went up to another junkyard today after work and i was lookin around for tbirds. well i found one and was walking back to ask how much they wanted for the bumper cover and i saw my old geo that we junked a few months ago. After looking at it for a minute i started walking up the road and something caught my eye. So i went and got a closer look and sure enough there it was the header panel of a TC. Its in real good shape, especially since its a car that came from NY, other than the interior cause of an electrical fire. Fenders are nice and straight not much rust on it at all even the door bottoms arent too rusty. I spent 2 hours trying to dig out the front bumper to get the bottom bolts of the bumper cover out. I couldnt even break the bolts off and they usually break at the first attempt to remove them. I think i will head back for the fenders and trunk lid and ask about the rear end. i dont know if i want the hood bad enough to pay the $50 they want for it. It was really in good shape its a shame people dont know how to wire things otherwise it would still be on the road. :pbb:
How would you all suggest i go about painting this. Should i try to strip the old paint or should i just sand it with fine grit sandpaper and paint over it. I tried stripping one i had before and it didnt work worth a .
