will BBK equal length shortie headers fit 87'-88' tbird February 25, 2005, 09:06:30 PM The title says it all. I have a set to put on, but I'm wondering if the motor mounts are going to give me a problem. They're designed to clear a mustang's mounts, but I'm not so shure about our pymounts... Quote Selected
Re: will BBK equal length shortie headers fit 87'-88' tbird Reply #1 – February 25, 2005, 09:56:00 PM stock mustang headers are a tight fit with the tbird mounts. i had to heat and bent down the "shackle" (passenger side) for the stock mustang headers to fit. my guess is that the equal length ones wont. seeing as you already have them it would only cost you time to try them. Re: will BBK equal length shortie headers fit 87'-88' tbird Reply #2 – February 25, 2005, 11:00:11 PM I've been using shortie equals for years, they will fit but are a hell of a tight fit, some modification has to be done to the header tube to clear the steering shaft as well as the motor mount shakle on the drs side. They do fit, but all i gotta say id have fun, their a #$@^. Re: will BBK equal length shortie headers fit 87'-88' tbird Reply #7 – March 01, 2005, 06:55:08 PM basically if you want closest to direct bolt-on, you're better off with unequal length headers. if you have time and the ability, you can make the equals work Quote Selected
